Dabangg 2 was given a hearty festive reception at the box office across India. The film marks Arbaaz Khan’s debut as a director and features Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead. Earning a good Rs 60 crore on its first weekend, tradewallahs feel the film is on its way to hitting the Rs 100-crore mark. With Tuesday being the mid-week Christmas holiday, they predict that the film will bring in excellent numbers this week and close the year on a very successful note.
In Mumbai, Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines says, “Dabangg 2 saw full houses during the weekend, not only in Mumbai but across India as well. The film wrapped the weekend at Rs 22.5 crore in Mumbai and Rs 60 crore domestically. The buzz around the film is growing every day and it will cross the Rs 100-crore mark in no time. The movie is expected to earn Rs 6-7 crore in Mumbai on Tuesday and Rs 15 crore all-India.”
In Delhi-UP, Brijesh Tandon, HK Tandon and Company says, “Dabangg 2 opened to a massive response from the audience as Salman Khan has a huge fan following among the masses and the classes. The film earned Rs 11.5 crore during the weekend in the Delhi UP region.”
In East Punjab, Surendra Saluja of Lakshya Movies adds, “The film took a flying start at the ticket windows and the three days NBOC in East Punjab is Rs 4.45 crore. Today, the film saw a slight drop in its collections but tomorrow being a holiday it will reel in over Rs 1 crore.”
In West Bengal, Debashish Dey of Aum Moviez reveals, “Dabangg 2 enjoyed an extraordinary response during the weekend and collected Rs 1 crore, Rs 94 lakh and Rs 1.27 crore on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The total weekend collections are Rs 3.2 crore.”

In CP, Sarang Chandak, Shri Rang Films says, “Whatever Salman Khan touches turns to gold and there was never any doubt that this film would be a success. On Friday, the movie earned Rs 1.1 crore, Saturday Rs 90 lakh and Sunday Rs 1.24 crore. The total weekend collection is Rs 3.24 crore.”
In Rajasthan, Gaurav Gaur of O’Real Imaginations adds, “Dabangg 2 enjoyed a fabulous weekend in Rajsthan and earned Rs 3.7 crore. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the film collected Rs 1.26 crore, Rs 96 lakh and Rs 1.48 crore respectively. The Christmas holiday tomorrow will boost the film’s collections and it will earn Rs 1.25 crore in Rajasthan. Tuesday’s NBOC all-India will be Rs 20-22 crore.”
In Bihar, Rakesh Singh of Maa Sona Films says, “The total three-day collections of Dabangg 2 were Rs 1.4 crore. Today there is a drop in collections but tomorrow being a holiday the film will earn Rs 86 lakh in our circuit.”
In Mysore, BH Bahsa of Bahar Enterprises concludes, “Dabangg 2 wrapped the weekend at Rs 3.05 crore in Mysore. The film might not gain from tomorrow’s holiday as Bengaluru is hosting the India-Pakistan cricket match.”
