LUCKNOW: Eid may mean a mega opening for Bollywood films, but the Eid of 2013 saw a fatwa against cine stars.
A cleric in Meerut city of UP has issued a fatwa against naming children after Bollywood actorsShah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.
The cleric asked the Muslim community to not name their children after the actors as they release their films on Eid and take advantage of the festive season to earn money, without making any contributions to the community.
Shah Rukh Khan's 'Chennai Express' was released on Friday, the day when Muslims world over celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr.
Meanwhile, it may also be recalled that Eid, for the past decade, has been dominated by Salman Khan at the box office. The list of his successful Eid releases in the past decade includes movies like Wanted and Bodyguard.
Similarly, Shah Rukh Khan's 'Veer Zaara' dominated the Eid weekend in 2004.
