Cancer patients in danger of losing their makeshift shelters on the pavement outside a Mumbai hospital have found a champion in actor Salman Khan.
"Incredible..." tweeted the actor with a picture from a story by Mid-Day that reports on cancer patients and their families living in temporary shelters on the footpath outside the Tata Memorial Hospital in Parel, Mumbai.
Mid-Day reports that the area police want the Bombay Municipal Corporation to raze the temporary shelters deeming them security risks.
Salman Khan, who is currently being tried for culpable homicide not amounting to murder for running over a group of people sleeping on a Mumbai pavement, runs the NGO Being Human which focuses on education and healthcare.
