★ Salman Khan promotes career development !!

Mumbai, Feb 15 (IBNS): Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd (HCCBPL)., Friday announced their partnership with actor Salman Khan’s Being Human foundation, to scale up Career Development Centre (CDC), an initiative to empower rural, educated and underserved youth.
The initiative, in association with NIIT Foundation and NGO Gram Niyojan Kendra, established its pilot centre near the HCCBPL bottling plant at Dasna and is now set to extend its reach to the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Odisha.

Salman Khan was present at the event along with T. Krishnakumar, Chief Executive Officer, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd., P. Rajendran Chief Operating Officer and Co-founder of NIIT Ltd., Prof. K.K. Mukherjee of Gram Niyojan Kendra.

Since its inception, the initiative has benefitted over 209 youth, helping them get their first jobs by providing them training aimed to enhance their employability at a low cost. The event also witnessed unveiling of the new logo of Career Development Centre. Several students who have benefitted under the program were felicitated for their achievements, with many coming forward to share their experiences.

Speaking about the association, Salman Khan said, “The training provided by CDC is very practical and prepares the youth for entry level jobs. Being Human - The Salman Khan Foundation is proud to partner with this endeavor.”

NEW DELHI, FEB. 15: Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, in partnership with actor Salman Khan’s Being Human Foundation, plans to scale up its initiative of setting up career development centres for rural youth. The centres will provide training aimed to enhance employability, the company said.

Khan, along with T. Krishnakumar, CEO, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCBPL) and P. Rajendran, Chief Operating Officer and Co-founder, NIIT, unveiled the new logo of these centres on Friday.

The initiative, in association with NIIT Foundation and NGO Gram Niyojan Kendra, established its pilot centre near the HCCBPL bottling plant at Dasna in 2011. In the coming months, the initiative will expand to Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Odisha, the company added.

Krishnakumar said five such centres were expected to be operational by the end of this year. “We want to offer orientation, training programmes as well as personality development programmes to rural youth who are educated but unemployed. In our pilot project at Dasna, we were able to place about 200 youth across industries,” he added.
