Post house provides DI services and over 950 VFX shots for sequel to the Bollywood hit.

Mumbai – Prime Focus delivered stunning VFX, digital intermediate(DI) and supplied wide range of equipments for the Bollywood action filmDabangg 2.
Directed and produced by Arbaaz Khan, the movie is a sequel to the 2010 blockbuster Dabangg. Starring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, the movie highlights the adventures of a police inspector named Chulbul ‘Robin Hood’ Pandey (Salman Khan). “A Salman Khan movie sets a different benchmark in terms of VFX and overall visual treatment. Prime Focus helped us package Dabangg 2 to meet the discerning expectations of Salman Khan fans globally,” Arbaaz Khan, Director and Producer ofDabangg 2, said in a press release.

The team at Prime Focus contributed to numerous lengthy and eye-catching shots including the Salman Khan introductory scene, the powerful Dabangg Reloaded song, action-packed dhaba fight sequence and the striking opening titles.

Talking about the DI, Rohan Desai, DI Head and Chief Colorist, Prime Focus said, “Since Dabangg (2010) was a super hit movie, the expectations on the sequel were very high. The overall look and feel forDabangg 2 was warm brown and it was a challenge to give a grungy feel to the entire film, while maintaining consistency at the same time. Also as the movie involved a lot of VFX shots; we used DI to seamlessly weave in these shots without disturbing the storytelling process. Senior Colorist Ashirwad Hadkar and the DI team worked round the clock to achieve the desired look and feel that was envisioned by Arbaaz. With a tight deadline, it was a challenging task for the team but thanks to our world-class grading techniques we were able to deliver high-quality work.”
